Star Class on the Harmony of the Seas

My family and I had the opportunity to sail in a 2 bedroom aqua theater suite on Harmony of the Seas. This room is considered to be RC’s highest tier of service, which is called Star Class. Included in the room amenities is a genie to help coordinate every detail of your trip, unlimited dining at specialty restaurants, unlimited drink package, and gratuities. Around 2 weeks before embarkation, our Royal Genie reached out to us to confirm our preferences- arrival time, dining, and even asking about shore excursions.

Embarkation was a breeze. When we arrived at the terminal around 10 am, we discovered we had a private Star Class drop off for our luggage. Once the luggage was tagged and whisked away, a staff member escorted us through a dedicated suite security line and into the suite lounge where we were greeted with pastries, coffee, and juice while we waited for our genie. After a few minutes, our genie appeared to walk us directly on the ship and to our room, stopping elevators as we went so that we didn’t have to wait to start our vacation. We went from car to suite in less than half and hour! We were greeted with chilled champagne and appetizers. Within 5 minutes of arriving, our luggage was being brought into the room.

ACCOMODATIONS:

The 2 bedroom aqua theater suite with large balcony boasts the largest balcony on the ship. The balcony overlooks the aqua theater, the back of the ship, and winds around for a view of the ocean off the side of the ship. We had an amazing view of the aqua theater and enjoyed the shows in the privacy of our suite with popcorn and drinks. We even hosted a few fellow travelers one night to watch the show, complete with appetizers and drinks. Despite the location, near the aqua theater, we felt like the noise wasn’t unbearable. We could still hear the show in our room, but in the bedrooms, it was very faint. The room was very spacious with a private master bedroom and bathroom and plenty of room for our 3 children to sleep comfortably in the other bedroom.

BENEFITS:

Dining with Star Class really spoiled us. Each morning, we had Starbucks delivered to the room and breakfast served on a white linen tablecloth on either the dining table inside or the large table on the balcony. Specialty dining was not only included with the room, but we could order from any restaurant and have it delivered to the room. We found this to be especially helpful when our children wanted to eat at Chops or have sushi, but they didn’t want to sit through the whole meal and wait. We were able to have multiple items delivered from different restaurants for the children, and then my husband and I went out to dinner for a date. One of the things that I really love about RC, is that out teenage son could drop his siblings off at Ocean Adventure, and then text us. Some other lines only allow the parents to drop off.

One evening, my husband and I were ablet to experience the Chef’s Table. Our genie was able to arrange for early check in for the kids so that we could go. They had Ocean Adventure all to themselves while we ate out. The Chef’s Table was fabulous. Each menu item was carefully selected and prepared by the head chef. The wines that were paired with each item went beautifully together. We did have to pay a surcharge for the wine pairing, but considering the rest of our meal was included, I didn’t think it was a big deal.

GENIE

The genie was amazing! We really didn’t know what to expect when we first boarded, but this is such an awesome benefit. She was in constant contact with us, and she was able to reserve prime seating all of the shows. We just walked in before the show started and she was waiting by our seats with popcorn and our favorite drinks. We never felt rushed to get anywhere. One afternoon, she even decorated our room to celebrate my husband’s birthday, complete with cake and an ice cream party for the kids. She was in contact with our room steward and made sure that we were always stocked with our favorite drinks, towel animals every day for the kids, and we had our clothes freshly laundered every day. We were even able to contact her off the ship one day when there was a reservation mishap for one of our excursions. She was able to quickly get it resolved and saved the day!

OTHER AMENITIES:

One of the unexpected amenities that we received was 2 morning of private Flowrider lessons. The kids were able to spend an hour with other star class guests receiving private lessons and spending time riding. We also had priority access to the Ultimate Abyss and a session in the escape room, and a Behind The Scenes tour of the bridge.

DEBARKATION:

On the morning we departed the ship, our genie met us in the Coastal Kitchen after breakfast. She not only escorted us off the ship, but she stopped elevators to get us downstairs quickly and walked us through any congestion that was building. We were off the ship, had a porter assist with our luggage, and then she guided us to customs, all within a 15 minute window. We were blown away with how quickly and easily we departed.

CONCLUSION:

If you are looking for all of the fun and entertainment of a larger ship, but you still want the luxury , attentiveness, and quiet of what smaller ships offer, Star Class is, in my opinion, the best of both worlds. We didn’t spend any time in long lines or buffets, and we had the top tier dining for options. Our children found plenty of entertainment on board, and we found time just for ourselves. All in all, memories for a lifetime were made.
